Arts & Hospitals

Since the Covid pandemic our artists have worked in hospitals in Edinburgh, West, Mid and East Lothian

specialising in creative participatory arts projects, pop up cinema and staff wellbeing. We have worked in Rehab, Geriatric, Dementia, Mother & Baby care and Mental Health wards and services both in primary and secondary care. We form partnerships to better understand where our services can support Occupational Therapists, Activity Coordinators, Art Therapists, and ward based staff, and support Staff Wellbeing. We also have artists in public spaces within hospitals providing moments of relief, creativity, joy and mindfulness to ease the staff, patient and visitor experience.

Our hospital programmes relieve boredom and isolation, encourage engagement, help patients sleep and eat better, reduce stress, strengthen limbs, balance, self esteem and connections with an individual's community - whether on a ward or at home.

If you work in a hospital setting and are interested in Generation Arts services please contact us to discuss your needs.

“Family visitors said seeing their relatives out their beds, dressed, having fun, socialising and using their affected side, after the experience of a stroke, well, it’s really a powerful emotion they feel. They all say they can’t believe that’s their loved one, who was lying in bed unable to do anything, now up and having fun”.
