Generation Arts support a network of community cinemas across West Lothian. Funding secured from Film Hub Scotland has allowed the continued development and growth of the network. We offer support and information on how to set up a community cinema if you are a constituted group, and signpost to training and funding opportunities. Current funding from Film Hub Scotland is supporting Murieston Community Cinema, Reconnect Cinemas at Reconnect Regal Theatre and Reconnect Howden Park, and Fulshie Films run by Stoneyburn and Bents Future Vision Group, and The Wee Cinema at Winchburgh to deliver cinema screenings and associated workshops for all ages. As part of the current funding Reconnect Theatres also worked in partnership with West Lothian Museums and Archives department and filmmaker Tomas Sheridan to create a new archive film based on recently digitised footage of Livingston. Filmmaker Tomas collaborated with local residents and school pupils to create the film which was screened at Reconnect Howden Park in June 2025.
